Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in New York, NY. This flexible, dependable role offers reliable hours at an assigned site with opportunities to pick up extra shifts and increase earnings.

Pay rate is $17.87–$18.87 per hour. Responsibilities include greeting patients and staff, patrolling interior and exterior areas, monitoring access points, and promptly reporting incidents to site leadership as required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by federal, state, and local laws.
• All Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other individuals at a government healthcare location while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as required.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with facility policies, directing visitors and assisting with wayfinding when appropriate.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Pay Rate: $17.87 - $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM
• Thur 03:30 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
