Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Sterling, VA. You will patrol, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service at a technology and data infrastructure site.

Applicants must have at least one year of security experience, be at least 18, and pass a background check and drug screen as required. Valid driver's license required for driving roles.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $23.18 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors at a technology and data infrastructure location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required by site procedures, and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and complete required incident reports.
• Maintain awareness of technology facility operations and follow established protocols for restricted areas, equipment spaces, and emergency communications.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security‑related experience is required.
• At this site, there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and a rustic guard shack.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
