Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Customer Care Patrol in Chicago, IL. You will patrol campus areas, deter incidents, and deliver excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and visitors.

This role includes evening shifts with a pay rate of $19.50 per hour, plus opportunities for training, benefits, and career growth within a caring team.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as per laws.
• Drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply per state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by following procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and access concerns in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and support entry procedures for specified locations.
• Document incidents and patrol activity and report to supervisors.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 04:00 PM - 02:00 AM
• Tue: 04:00 PM - 02:00 AM
• Fri: 04:00 PM - 02:00 AM
• Sat: 04:00 PM - 02:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns.
• Monitor access points and support authorized entry procedures for academic, residential, and administrative locations as assigned.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to supervisors and appropriate campus personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
