Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Customer Welcome in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors while responding to security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, report suspicious conditions or policy violations, and document observations and incidents accurately.
• Assist with directions, escorts, and general campus support while maintaining a professional, courteous presence in a dynamic educational environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
