Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Emergency Readiness in Chicago, IL to safeguard clients across campus settings. You will patrol, monitor access points, assist students and staff, and respond to incidents while upholding campus policies and safety protocols.

The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and collaboration with campus security and emergency responders. Starting pay is $19.50/hour with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation under applicable laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Conduct regular patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with campus representatives, law enforcement, and emergency responders.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout assigned areas; report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with campus representatives, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.
