Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Badge Reader Operations in Boise, ID. You will protect client sites, manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access, and provide responsive customer service at a technology/media/telecom location.

This role requires basic computer use, ability to lift 20+ pounds, background checks, and a drug screen. Shift schedule includes 7:00 AM–3:30 PM daily. Allied Universal offers smart tools, career growth, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by managing site access.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and maintain visitor records.
• Assist with controlling access to construction areas, deliveries, and restricted locations.
• Respond to incidents calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Full Time Badge Reader Operations in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer in a technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents. You will use computer or tablet systems to support badge and visitor processes, communicate professionally with employees and guests, and provide responsive customer service. Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon – 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
• Fri – 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
• Sat – 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
• Sun – 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect access credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and contractor entry records.
• Assist with controlling access to construction‑related work areas, deliveries, and restricted locations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
