Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer in Boise, ID. You will serve as an Access Control Officer, monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and maintaining secure environments across various client sites.

Expect night shifts and on-site responsibilities with emphasis on professional communication and reliability. We seek candidates comfortable with computers/tablets, capable of handling patrols, and able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation will be conducted in accordance with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures and policies.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorizations, contractor check-ins, and deliveries per site requirements.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, vehicle, and access-related records and report discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts.
• Respond to incidents and access-related concerns calmly and follow escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.

You will remain visible, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, use computer or tablet systems to document activity, and support a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM
• Sat: 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorizations, contractor check-ins, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, vehicle, and access-related records, and report discrepancies or unauthorized access attempts to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated access points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
