Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for full-time badge issuance in Totowa, NJ. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Tue: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Wed: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thur: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sun: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control protocols, and/or emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry procedures, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, unauthorized access attempts, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
• Report access-control equipment issues, unusual activity, and policy concerns to the appropriate Allied Universal and site leadership personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
