Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in North Bergen, NJ. This role features fixed anchor shifts with a six-month commitment and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $18.00 per hour. The position supports part‑time hours with potential to scale to full‑time while maintaining flexibility for better balance and experience growth.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks and drug screening may be required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points; verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and delivery documentation.
• Control access to terminals, warehouses, loading and restricted areas; maintain logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations with calm, problem-solving.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and surrounding areas to deter unauthorized activity.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and security‑related policies at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points; verify credentials, visitor authorizations, driver information, and/or delivery documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Control access to terminal, warehouse, loading, and restricted areas; maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and contractor logs as required.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access‑control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.

Minimum Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
