Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah is seeking a Security Officer to provide protection for patients, staff, and property on the main campus and associated buildings. The role includes enforcing safety protocols, responding to calls, patrolling grounds, and coordinating with local authorities as needed.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and certification in Use of Force with OC spray and Taser training within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire.
• Use of Force certification, including OC spray, pressure points and control tactics and Taser training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Answers all calls for service and questions about calls or responds accordingly.
• Investigates incidents involving criminal matters, completes incident reports and reports to proper authorities.
• Subdues and/or de-escalates high-stress, tense situations.
• Assists with monthly fire checks (Fire Extinguishers and Exit Signs).
• Conducts routine campus foot patrols, issues parking violations, and assists with traffic control.

Security Officer Full Time, 4 Days/Week - Three 12 Hour Shifts and One 6 Hour Shift 6a-6p and Every Other Friday from Either 6a-12p or 12p-6p Schedule will also consist with part of the 12-hour shifts being every other weekend. Provides security and protection to the person and property of those entering Baptist Health Paducah and secondary buildings associated with the operations of Baptist Health buildings, equipment, supplies, and report any misuse of any hospital buildings, equipment, and properties.

Job Duties

• Answers all calls for service and answers questions concerning these calls or responds accordingly.
• Investigates all incidents involving criminal matters, completes an incident report and reports such matters as appropriate to the proper authority.
• Required to subdue and/or de-escalate high stress, tense situations involving combative person(s) for an unknown period of time.
• Able to assist and complete required fire checks (Fire Extinguishers and Exit Signs on a monthly basis.)
• Conducts routine internal and external foot patrols on the main campus and issue parking violations and assist with traffic control as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED Driver’s License
• Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire.
• Use of Force certification, including exposure to OC spray, pressure points and control tactics and Taser training within 6 months

Preferred Requirements

• Two (2) years’ experience in the field of Law Enforcement, Security, Military and/or Corrections
