Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant on a part-time basis for the Third Shift in the 3G & H telemetry/medical-surgical unit. This role provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN or licensed care team member, handling routine duties to support patient examination, treatment, and care.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a KY Nurse Aide Certification, and completion of the first year of a nursing program with clinical rotation validation.

Qualifications

• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification is required.
• Completion of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation; Basic Life Support must be completed within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
• Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
• Perform delegated procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
• Handle clerical and unit coordination duties including patient charts and physician orders.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies with compassionate, respectful care.

Summary

Nursing Assistant Part‑Time, Third Shift 3G & H 3G/H is a 37‑bed telemetry/medical surgical unit specializing in but not limited to orthopedic/neuro/spine patients. The unit serves as a secondary stroke unit as well as general cardiac/telemetry patients. The patients are transferred from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct admissions from MD offices. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
