As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Dispatch Communications in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.15 / Hour

• Security Experience (C115):Candidates must have a minimum of one year of relevant security experience. This experience should demonstrate the ability to handle security‑related tasks and responsibilities effectively.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):Candidates must be proficient in using computers or tablets. This includes familiarity with basic software applications, internet navigation, and the ability to learn new technologies as required.

• Customer Service Experience (B219):Candidates must possess prior customer service experience. This experience should reflect the ability to interact positively with customers, resolve issues, and provide assistance in a professional manner.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Receive, document, prioritize, and dispatch security‑related calls, alarms, incidents, and service requests to the appropriate personnel or responders.
• Monitor communications systems, cameras, alarms, and access activity; maintain clear, accurate dispatch logs and incident records.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating pertinent information to site contacts and responding personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including the business, perimeter, and industrial operations areas, and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
