Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Perimeter Inspection in Reading, PA. This role offers flexible, reliable hours with fixed shifts and the option to pick up extra shifts through our Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

You will provide customer service, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents. The position requires at least 6 months of security experience, comfort using a computer or tablet, and prior customer service experience.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Perimeter Inspection in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour

• Security Experience (C112):Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience. This experience should demonstrate the ability to handle security‑related tasks and responsibilities effectively.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):Candidates must be proficient in using computers or tablets. This includes familiarity with basic software applications, internet navigation, and the ability to learn new technologies as required.

• Customer Service Experience (B219):Candidates must possess prior customer service experience. This experience should reflect strong communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent service to clients and customers.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports documenting incidents, observations, and actions taken during the shift.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
