• Prepare clear reports and maintain documentation on patrols and incidents.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Operations in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour

1. Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204):

   • Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets. This includes familiarity with basic software applications, internet navigation, and the ability to communicate effectively via email and other digital platforms.
   • Assessment may include a practical test or interview questions related to technology use.

2. Customer Service Experience (B219):

   • A minimum of [insert number] years of customer service experience is required. Candidates should provide evidence of their ability to interact positively with customers, resolve issues, and maintain a professional demeanor.
   • Relevant experience may include roles in retail, hospitality, call centers, or any position that involves direct customer interaction.

3. Security Experience - 6+ Months (C112):

   • Candidates must have at least six months of experience in a security-related role. This may include positions in physical security, loss prevention, or cybersecurity.
   • Applicants should be prepared to discuss their specific responsibilities and achievements in previous security roles during the interview process.

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 07:00 AM - 02:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or community members while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report security‑related concerns, unusual activity, and maintenance issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, campus information, and adherence to site‑access procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to patrols, incidents, and observed conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
