• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior or maintenance concerns to the proper personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Readiness in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour

1. Security Experience:

   • Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112). This experience should demonstrate the ability to handle security‑related tasks and responsibilities effectively.

2. Technical Proficiency:

   • Candidates must be comfortable using a computer or tablet (B204). Proficiency in basic software applications and the ability to navigate digital platforms is essential for job performance.

3. Customer Service Experience:

   • Candidates must possess prior customer service experience (B219). This experience should reflect the ability to interact positively with customers, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service.

Job Schedule:

Mon 02:30 PM - 10:00 PM; Tue 02:30 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
