Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time at our Reading, PA site. This role offers a fixed anchor shift with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, providing flexibility and income stability.

The position requires a minimum 6 months of security experience and prior customer service experience, with a starting pay rate of $16.50 per hour. Candidates must meet age requirements and pass background and drug screenings where applicable.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• A drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and escalate as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of facility buildings, production areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vehicle activity per site procedures.
• Document patrols and incidents in required reports and share information with leadership.

Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Property Observation in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

3.1 Security Experience (C112)

• Candidates must have a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience. This experience should include, but is not limited to, roles in security operations, loss prevention, or any position that involves safeguarding people, property, or information.

3.2 Customer Service Experience (B219)

• Candidates must demonstrate prior customer service experience. This includes roles that require direct interaction with customers, problem-solving, and the ability to handle inquiries and complaints effectively. A strong emphasis will be placed on candidates who can showcase their ability to maintain a positive customer experience.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout facility buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vehicle activity in accordance with site‑specific access‑control procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual conditions in required reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
