Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• TSA issued TWIC credential.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver’s license required only for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and drivers by following site-specific procedures, access control policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor and contractor passes, and maintain entry/exit records.
• Screen incoming deliveries, vehicles, and materials per site procedures and report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer in Freeport, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter incidents, and communicate clearly with employees and visitors. What You’ll Do:

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Possess a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
