Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Armed Security Officer in West Des Moines, IA to patrol and safeguard financial institutions and other sites. You will deter incidents, respond to alarms, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining security procedures.

Qualifications

• Background check and drug screen will be conducted as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while following security procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of interior and exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and report irregularities per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, problem-solving manner and coordinate with responders as needed.
• Carry required equipment in accordance with laws, policies, and procedures; document incidents accurately.

As an Armed Security Officer supporting a financial institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security‑related incidents, respond to alarms and concerns, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Pay Rate: $23.90 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
• Fri 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sat 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun 12:00 PM - 04:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial services location while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, alarm systems, and surveillance equipment; verify credentials and report irregularities according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; coordinate with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site‑specific procedures; complete accurate incident and patrol documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
