Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Specialist in West Des Moines, IA. You will patrol unarmed at a financial institution, deter incidents, and support access control while delivering excellent customer service.

The role is full-time with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. You will follow site-specific procedures, complete reports, and respond to events per established protocols.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and customers at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including entry points, customer areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor authorization and report unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and follow site protocols.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and customers at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including entry points, customer areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and contacting emergency services when needed.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
