Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer to join our team in Des Moines, IA, providing frontline security and customer service at a financial institution location. You will deter incidents, monitor access points, and respond professionally to alarms and incidents.

The role offers a flexible schedule (DayTime Fri 2-10 PM and Sat 2-10 PM) with opportunities to learn our shift-claim platform and grow within a national security leader committed to integrity and community safety.

Qualifications

• Two years of security-related experience required.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and vendor activity in accordance with site-specific access control procedures.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate relevant security-related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• At least two years of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
