Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer Daytime Patrol in Urbandale, IA to monitor and safeguard a commercial real estate site. You will provide excellent customer service to tenants and visitors while conducting regular patrols of interiors, exteriors, and access points.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, background check, drug screening where permitted, and state licensing as needed.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior/exterior areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access to the property, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs, and communicate relevant information to leadership and property representatives.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or property management personnel while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access to the property, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document actions taken according to site requirements.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and property representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
