Job summary

Ascension in Waco, Texas is seeking a Security professional for a full-time night role at Ascension Providence. The position focuses on proactive monitoring, incident investigation and documentation, and enforcing alarm and disaster preparedness policies.

Staff and visitor safety is a key responsibility. Candidates should have a Texas DPS driver license, weapon permit within 4 months, and a relevant licensure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience.
• Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience.
• Driver's License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety required prior to hire.
• Security Guard Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety within 4 months of hire.
• BLS Provider preferred (AHA or Red Cross).
• Law Enforcement preferred.
• Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely response to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge and follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operate a vehicle safely and responsibly if assigned.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Licenses/Certifications/Registration

What minimum requirements you’ll need

• Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Law Enforcement preferred.
• Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
