Overview

Lead-Security Officer role at Ascension Providence, Waco, Texas. This position leads assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as team leader for assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Participate in monitoring, guiding and evaluating staff performance.
• Contribute to efficient operations by coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow and promoting decision-making and problem solving.
• Perform the duties of a security officer.
• Model and promote teamwork; review staff reports for accuracy, clarity and completeness.
• Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards; address escalated or unresolved issues.
• Assist the Security Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and Committee Chair responsibilities.
• Operate vehicle safely, provide for traffic and parking enforcement within campus, and participate in patrols.

Requirements

• Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Security Professional with Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Law Enforcement preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate\'s/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
