Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Security professional at Seton Smithville Regional Hospital in Smithville, Texas. This full-time role supports a safe environment for staff and visitors in a hospital setting, with rotating shifts and adherence to security procedures.

Qualifications

• Professional security credentials from Texas DPS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Conduct proactive monitoring and timely responses to potential security threats.
• Investigate and document security incidents and hazards; follow alarms and emergency plans.
• Assist staff and visitors to promote safety and, if applicable, operate a vehicle safely to avoid incidents.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge/follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need: Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
