Job summary

Ascension is hiring for a Security role at Seton Smithville Regional Hospital in Smithville, TX. You will provide security services for staff and visitors, monitor for threats, and handle incidents while following alarm and emergency procedures. A Texas Driver's License is required, with DPS weapon permit licensing within 120 days.

BLS and DPS security credentials are preferred. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires Texas Driver's License before hire date.
• Security Guard credential (Weapon Permit) within 120 days of hire.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Security Professional credential from DPS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Monitor for potential security threats and respond promptly.
• Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge of alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans; facilitate drills.

How you'll make an impact in this role

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge/follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Drivers License credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety obtained within 4 Months (120 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Security Professional credentialed from the Texas Department of Public Safety preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
