Job summary

Ascension is seeking a full-time Safety Officer for the Ascension St. Vincent Police Department in Indianapolis, IN. The role runs 6:00am–6:00pm on a Panama Style Schedule, with daily shifts to protect patients, staff and visitors across campus.

You will lead investigations, conduct drills, patrol grounds, and coordinate traffic control while maintaining readiness for emergencies and equipment issues. A HS diploma is required; BLS/guard licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure/Certification/Registration as required; High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Provider preferred; AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Security Guard preferred.

• Lead incident investigations and document hazards with precision.

• Proactively safeguard the hospital environment through vigilant monitoring and rapid response to ensure the continuous safety of patients, visitors, and medical staff.
• Lead incident investigations and document safety hazards with precision, providing the critical data needed to mitigate future risks and maintain high care standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Drivers License credentialed from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Security Guard preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
