Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a full-time security officer for a chemical and petrochemical facility in Sulphur, LA. The position offers a pay rate of $15.50 per hour and a schedule that includes long shifts from Thursday through Saturday starting early morning.

Responsibilities include providing customer service to personnel and visitors, controlling access, monitoring security systems, responding to incidents, and patrolling assigned areas.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license in the state where job is located.
• 1+ years' law enforcement experience OR 2+ years' security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years' security experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.

1+ Years' Law Enforcement Experience OR 2+ Years' Security Supervisor/Manager Experience OR 3+ Years' Security Experience. Valid Driver's License.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at a chemical and petrochemical facility while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Control access to the location by verifying credentials, issuing visitor and contractor passes, maintaining entry records, and directing authorized individuals in accordance with site requirements.
• Monitor entry points, access-control systems, and alarm notifications; report irregularities and follow established escalation procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, assigned areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
