Job summary

Allied Universal in Sulphur, LA seeks a part-time Security Officer – Enhanced to provide reliable hours at a designated site with flexible shifts, helping you supplement income or build toward a full-time role with the industry leader.

Base schedule is fixed, with the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program allowing you to pick up extra shifts through our platform to increase earnings.

Responsibilities include access control, patrols, incident response, logs, and reporting to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
• At least one year of law enforcement experience, or two years of security supervisor/manager experience, or three years of security experience.
• Site has limited on-site facilities (portable toilets, rustic guard shacks).
• Preferred ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Preferred comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, visitors, and vendors at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials.
• Respond to incidents and alarms following emergency protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and report hazards.
• Maintain logs and communicate security information to leadership.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by following site‑specific procedures and access requirements at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and report access discrepancies according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
• Maintain accurate logs, complete required reports, and communicate relevant security‑related information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Must have at least one year of law enforcement experience, at least two years of security‑related supervisor or manager experience, or at least three years of security‑related experience.
• At this site there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Preferred ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Preferred comfort using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
