Job summary

Allied Universal in Sulphur, LA is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed to protect clients at a chemical/petrochemical site. You will manage entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and perform routine patrols while delivering excellent customer service.

Requirements include 1+ year of law enforcement, or 2+ years security supervision, or 3+ years security experience, a valid driver's license, and full-time availability. Pay is $15.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of law enforcement experience OR 2+ years security supervision/manager experience OR 3+ years security experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers, following site procedures.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials and processing visitors.
• Operate access-control systems, cameras, and visitor-management tools per procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents and document observations for site contacts.

• Wed: 10:00 PM - 04:00 AM
• Thur: 04:30 PM - 04:30 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, processing visitors and contractors, maintaining entry records, and communicating access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Operate access‑control systems, cameras, communication equipment, and visitor‑management tools in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
