Job summary

Securitas USA is hiring a Part Time Security Officer in Colorado Springs, CO. The role covers multiple sites with various shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will monitor access, patrol premises, and respond to incidents while upholding client standards and safety protocols.

The position requires ≥18 years old, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work independently and calmly in stressful situations. Training and uniforms are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Appropriate I9 Identifications required at time of offer.
• Ability to interact with the public, and others at assigned site.
• Must have Swing or Grave shift availability.
• Ability to adhere to attendance standards.
• Ability to de-escalate escalated situations.
• Intermediate computer/technology skills to ensure proper use and care of client or Company property, and efficient workflow.
• Interpersonal and communication skills will support successful assignment.
• Willingness to assist public, vendors, co-workers, Site Supervisors, client and branch management.
• Open to communication and feedback to improve performance and meet contractual obligations.
• Must be able to adhere to 15 minute, and lunch breaks.
• Must be able to learn and adhere to security operations.
• Must have a personal vehicle, Colorado Driver's License and clean driving record due to required mobile patrol.
• Must be able to obtain Colorado Springs Guard Card License out of pocket ($117.00) immediately following new hire orientation/Guard Card class, and maintain it every year.
• Must be able to attend in-person interview, and in-person orientation (if offered position) in Colorado Springs.

Responsibilities

• Report alarms in accordance with client requirements, and monitor cameras.
• Greet vendors, customers, residents, client employee's, client, and aid as needed.
• Conduct internal patrol and/or external mobile patrol when needed to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, blocked ingress and egress, mechanical problems, unauthorized persons, inspects grounds using appropriate equipment and protective gear.
• Monitor entrance/exits and provide guidance to site visitors, and/or vendors.
• Complete daily activity (DAR), incident reports and logs via Securitas and client systems.
• Provide an atmosphere where everyone knows their needs are being met.
• Present a good image to client, public, and Management.
• Operates in a calm manner and directs persons who cause disruption to leave property.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations; sets up barriers and signage, and provides direction or information to others.
• Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to client, Company Management, or public safety authorities as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the site.
• Ensures all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accord with client standards.
• Carries out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Security Officer - Part Time

Primary Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Some sites not accessible by public transportation due to location and/or shift.

Wage Range: $17.00-$19.00/HR

Available Positions:

• Mobile Patrol: Tues & Wed: 8AM - 3:30PM ($19.00/HR - Colorado Springs)
• Mobile Patrol: Sat & Sun: 2PM - 11PM ($19.00/HR - Fountain)
• Reception Security Officer: Thurs - Sat: 4PM - 8AM ($17.00/HR - South Fountain)
• Temporary Campus Security Officer: Wed - Sun: 3PM - 11PM ($17.17/HR - Downtown)

Our Security helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.
