Job summary

CyberMaxx, Inc. in Linthicum, MD is seeking an Implementation Engineer to deploy and tune security products from day one. You will configure EDR agents, SIEMs, M365 integrations, deception decoys, and vulnerability scanners while collaborating with our SOC, Product, and Customer Success teams.

You will work hands-on to onboard customers, ensure coverage, and translate environments into repeatable deployments, balancing fast delivery with robust security controls and documentation.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience in security engineering or related hands-on roles (IT, cybersecurity, MSSP/SaaS a plus).
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration and IP networking, plus comfort with cloud environments (Azure/Entra ID or AWS).
• Exposure to security tooling categories: XDR, SIEM, vulnerability scanning; willingness to grow in others.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 / Entra ID administration and security configuration is a strong plus.
• Experience with Elastic, Ansible, or scripting to automate deployments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy the stack across Windows, Linux, and macOS endpoints, ensuring coverage and reporting.
• Build the SIEM ingestion pipeline, deploy sensors, onboard log sources, and verify data flows.
• Integrate Microsoft 365 / Entra ID tenants, Defender integrations, and conditional access telemetry.
• Plant deception decoys to expand detection coverage across customer environments.
• Configure and schedule vulnerability scanners, validate results, and ensure accuracy of reporting.
• Test deployments end-to-end, troubleshoot agent/connectivity issues, and verify telemetry reaches the SOC.
• Document configurations and onboarding notes to keep deployments repeatable and supportable.
• Collaborate with Pre-Sales, Product, SOC, and Customer Success to deliver tailored deployments.
• Lead kickoff and onboarding sessions, set expectations, and serve as technical POC through go-live.
• Handover to SOC monitoring and post-deployment support; feed lessons learned back into processes.
