Job summary

Allied Universal in Sterling, VA is seeking a part-time Security Guard (Unarmed Patrol) to protect clients across commercial real estate locations. You will monitor entrances, conduct routine patrols, and provide courteous service while upholding our safety standards and community-focused approach.

Key requirements include a high school diploma, customer service experience, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. A guard card/license and CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document events.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the property including common areas, exterior grounds, and parking areas.
• Observe and report maintenance issues or unusual activity to management.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for tenants and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, communicate professionally, and provide exceptional customer service while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and integrity-driven culture.

Pay Rate: $23.36 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate activity logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the property, including building common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Observe and report maintenance issues, hazardous conditions, and/or unusual activity to site management or designated contacts in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
