Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer in Sterling, VA to patrol a technology and media location, provide customer service, and monitor access points. This full-time role includes night shifts and requires adherence to site procedures and safety protocols.

You will perform regular patrols, report incidents, and cooperate with site contacts and emergency responders. A high school diploma is required, and background checks and drug screening are part of the employment process.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and media location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building interiors, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; direct guests and report access-control concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and document observations.
• Complete detailed activity and incident reports and handoffs while maintaining professionalism.

Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Computer Use in Sterling, VA

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $23.11 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 06:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue: 06:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Wed: 06:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building interiors, entrances, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; verify credentials, direct guests, and report access-control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoff information while maintaining a professional presence in a fast-paced technology and media environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
