The State Fair showcases and promotes the state's agriculture, agribusiness, arts and crafts and culture through the annual agricultural fair as well as leases fairground property, on a short-term basis, during non-fair times to the best interests of the public.
Duties include conducting routine patrols on property to detect and prevent fire, theft and vandalism, detecting and reporting safety hazards observed on property, responding to calls for service on property, responding to complaints, providing security for over 200 acres of property and over twenty buildings, and managing and directing traffic on the property during events. This employee will also assist Law Enforcement Officers with criminal investigations that occur on NCDA&CS properties.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Management prefers experience in monitoring, operating, downloading, printing and reviewing camera footage on a closed loop (Internal) CCTV system and experience working in large venues or fairs with attendance over 50,000 people.
You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. May require the ability to complete emergency medical technician (EMT) training and meet re-certification standards as required.
Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate's related education and experience.

If a CDL is listed as a preference and the candidate has a CDL at hire, it becomes a requirement.
