Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a hands-on Security & Fire Alarm Electrical Installer to install, program, configure, commission, and service security and fire alarm systems at customer sites. You will support related low-voltage work and collaborate with project teams to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, reading blueprints, and effective communication with district staff and site contacts. Weekend work and physical labor may be required in field settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems.
• Experience installing, programming, configuring, commissioning, and servicing fire alarm or related systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, specs, and manuals.
• Competence with testing equipment and commissioning devices.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, configure, commission, and service Security & Fire Alarm Systems at customer sites.
• Support low-voltage work including Access Control, CCTV, and paging as applicable.
• Test, troubleshoot, repair, and reprogram panels and devices.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and specs to ensure correct installation.
• Coordinate installation activities with other trades to optimize site productivity.
• Document project progress accurately and on time.
• Train customers on system operation and conduct simulations.
