Job summary

Harvard Protection Services is seeking a part-time Customer Service Officer in Manhattan, NY. You will greet visitors, monitor entrances, perform patrols, and respond to incidents while maintaining a professional demeanor and high customer service standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a security license or ability to obtain one, reliable transportation, and strong communication skills. Training and equipment are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and friendly, professional demeanor.
• Neat and professional appearance.
• Computer skills and ability to operate security and communication devices.
• Write routine log entries and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious and unsafe activity.
• Greet customers, visitors, staff, tenants, guests in a professional manner.
• Answer all phones professionally.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits.
• Know facility policies and enforce them within limits.
• Perform patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow established emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Duties may vary by location.
