Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in New York is seeking Customer Service Officers to deliver professional customer-focused security and life safety services for people and property. You will greet and assist guests, monitor entrances, patrol assigned areas, respond to incidents, and prepare incident reports.

A high school diploma or GED is required, plus a security license or ability to obtain one; reliable transportation and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a state or municipal security officer license.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation and communication means.
• Must obtain security guard license if not currently licensed.
• Strong interpersonal and professional demeanor.
• Neat, professional appearance; able to operate security devices.
• Experience writing incident reports and logs.
• Previous contract security or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional demeanor aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain visible presence in the assigned facility.
• Monitor environment for suspicious/unsafe activity.
• Become familiar with incoming/outgoing traffic and know occupants.
• Greet customers and guests professionally.
• Answer phones professionally.
• Permit entry for authorized persons and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies.
• Perform patrols on foot or in vehicle.
• Monitor for theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency action plans.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• Prepare reports on accidents and incidents.
• Duties may differ by customer location.
