Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join the IT team working on a large-scale, wired and wireless network project. You will design, implement, and test the network infrastructure, interfaces, and related hardware/software while coordinating with state/local personnel and vendors.

The role emphasizes network security, documentation, and ongoing optimization, with professional growth opportunities and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, CS, IS or related field.
• Strong documentation skills including JIRA, Wiki, diagrams.
• CWNA or equivalent certification.
• BCNE or equivalent certification.
• Experience with RF survey tools (Ekahau, RF scanners, Wireshark).
• Knowledge of VLANs, OSPF, 802.1x, RADIUS, and CA.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the CGS NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve monitoring and reporting capabilities with network management software.
• Develop and maintain network documentation for NPS environment.
• Review best practices and provide architecture/management recommendations.
• Install security patches and updates; manage 0800–1700 PST downtime.
