Job summary

CGS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain a large-scale wireless and wired network for the NPS environment. The role involves evaluating existing networks, planning architecture, and coordinating with state/local staff and vendors to ensure robust, secure connectivity.

Expect testing, vulnerability assessments, and ongoing optimization. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with RF surveys, network security, and Linux/VMware environments, plus strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Information systems or related.
• Strong documentation skills with updating JIRA, Wiki Pages, and diagrams.
• Ability to communicate with end users and cross-organizational staff.
• CWNA or equivalent certification.
• BCNE or equivalent certification.
• Experience with RF site survey tools like Ekahau, RF Scanners, Wireshark.
• Knowledge of 2-layer switching, 3-layer routing: VLANs, OSPF, VRRP.
• Security knowledge: 802.1x, MAC Auth, ACLs, RADIUS, CA.

Responsibilities

• Operate and manage the NPS network infrastructure.
• Improve infrastructure monitoring and reporting capabilities.
• Develop and maintain network documentation for NPS.
• Review best practices and provide architecture recommendations.
• Administer Cloudpath onboarding and monitor wireless health.
• Assess network infrastructure and propose improvements.
• Define testing procedures for new infrastructure projects.
• Implement technology solutions within the NPS network.
• Provide design guidance on network solutions for NPS projects.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to NPS resources.
