Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to own full-stack development and maturation of a government prototype as it transitions to a Program of Record for a DoD customer in North Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities include resilient system design, secure data pipelines, and integration of heterogeneous hardware and software for mission-critical applications, with a focus on RMF/ATO and container security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in Go and Python.
• Systems integration experience across heterogeneous hardware, networks, and data pipelines.
• Experience with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Secure software engineering practices and container/infrastructure hardening; RMF/ATO familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design resilient distributed systems for secure, degraded environments.
• Develop full-stack backend and frontend services and infrastructure.
• Implement secure data pipelines and RMF/ATO compliant practices.
• Design segmented networks and real-time communications for mission-critical apps.
• Create user-centric tools for tactical use and diagnostics.
