Job summary

RTX is seeking a Section Leader Test Engineer for the Environmental Test (ET) organization in Tucson, AZ. The role oversees a group of 10-15 engineers and technicians, guiding vibration and structural testing across programs while ensuring safety, schedules, and budgets are met.

Qualified candidates will have a STEM degree and 8+ years in product development labs with shaker systems and instrumentation; DoD clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and at least eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a work group of 10-15 engineers and support personnel.
• Develop and mentor engineers and technicians in Environmental Test.
• Provide testing guidance to internal program customers and verify requirements.
• Write test plans and procedures that meet requirements and safety; create schedules and budgets.
• Oversee and conduct environmental testing to validate models for qualification, production acceptance, flight test clearance, and investigations.
• Implement engineering best practices to ensure testing is on schedule and within budget.
• Analyze test data in real time and post-test to verify requirements.
