Job summary

RTX's Environmental Test team in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal Environmental Test Technician to execute mechanical shock and vibration tests, manage data acquisition, and support IP team objectives. The role requires handling sensitive materials and working in classified environments on site.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in lab environments with shaker systems, instrumentation, and data systems, plus DoD clearance or clearability. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a product development lab with vibration shaker systems or instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate mechanical shock test systems.
• Set up and operate climatic environmental chambers for temperature, altitude, and humidity testing.
• Program control and data acquisition systems and place instrumentation core such as accelerometers and thermocouples.
• Execute vibration test methods including random, sine, shock, sine-on-random, and drop shock per Mil-Std-810.
• Collect and verify thermal, vibration, and shock data for accuracy.
• Safeguard classified/proprietary material and work in closed/proprietary/classified areas.
