Job summary

RTX Environmental Test team in Tucson seeks a Principal Environmental Test Technician to perform environmental tests and support IP team activities. You will set up and operate mechanical shock and electrodynamic vibration systems, program data acquisition, and ensure data quality and secure handling of materials.

Onsite role in Tucson, AZ, with opportunities to collaborate with Test Engineers, technicians and internal customers in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 8 years prior relevant experience.
• 5 years in a product development lab with vibration shakers and instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate mechanical shock test systems.
• Set up and operate climatic environmental chambers for temperature, altitude, and humidity tests.
• Program control and data acquisition systems and manage instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Execute vibration test methods including random, sine, shock, sine-on-random, random-on-random, and drop shock per Mil-Std-810.
• Collect and verify thermal, vibration, and shock data for accuracy.
• Safeguard classified/proprietary material, hardware, and documentation.
