Job summary

Raytheon’s Mechanical Engineering (MA&T) group in Tucson, AZ is seeking a senior engineer to lead structural analysis efforts for missiles and systems. This onsite role requires hands-on leadership, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering robust analysis supporting programs.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in thermal analysis, FEM tools, and prior experience leading engineers, with U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics plus 8+ years of experience, or 12 years without degree.
• 8 years of thermal analysis experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams to drive technical and cost performance.
• Experience with Thermal Finite Element Analysis using PATRAN or ANSYS.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader and lead analysis/test teams.
• Support staffing requests to ensure programs are staffed.
• Engage with team members on performance and career development.
• Assist with proposal preparation, including estimating scope.
• Perform hand calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Perform detailed analysis to solve structural challenges.
• Peer review analyses to validate process and results.
• Document results to Raytheon ME standards.
• Deliver results to customers (internal and external).
