Job summary

The City of New York Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Administrative Engineer NM-1 to serve as the Section Chief for REP in Kingston, NY. This role leads staff across regulatory and engineering programs focused on protecting the City’s drinking water and watershed resources.

You will oversee enforcement, contract management, budgets, and development of water protection policies, reporting to the Chief of REP and coordinating with multiple divisions and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license required.
• Six (6) years of full-time experience in engineering with at least two years in executive/administrative capacity.

Responsibilities

• Direct REP activities in stormwater and wastewater programs and guide staff.
• Coordinate enforcement actions with NYSDEC/NYSDOH and lead NOV meetings.
• Represent DEP at meetings with engineers, consultants and local officials.
• Oversee contracts, budgets and contract payments for programs.
• Develop source water protection policies and collaborate with watershed stakeholders.
• Manage Kingston and other office staff and project locations.
