Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks Environmental Engineers Level 1 to serve as Accountable Managers for the Special Projects Capital Program (SPCP). You will oversee wastewater pumping stations, contribute to Design-Build initiatives, and coordinate with multiple bureaus to support capital construction projects.

You will guide planning, design, and construction, ensure schedules and reports meet scope, and manage modifications to contracts.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Professional Engineer license and four years of full-time Environmental Engineering experience.
• Master's degree in environmental engineering may be substituted for one year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction of wastewater pumping stations and support SPCP design-build initiatives.
• Coordinate with multiple DEP bureaus and City Agencies to ensure project delivery.
• Prepare, negotiate, and process contract modifications to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to staff and manage staffing and performance for project delivery.
