Job summary

RTX is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our onsite team in El Segundo, CA. You will provide administration across Windows and Red Hat environments, and collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.

The role requires a Secret security clearance and US citizenship, with up to 10% travel. Candidates should have Linux/Windows experience, familiarity with ESXi/VCenter, AD, DNS/DHCP, and be prepared to obtain DoDD 8140/8570 certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity.
• Execute actions as directed by senior staff and project management.
• Engage in cross-team collaboration and align with expectations of leadership team.
• Manage ESXi, VCenter and Microsoft Windows domains.
• Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
• Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools.
• Perform data backup and restore, using industry best practice.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
• Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year.
• Full time 100% Onsite position.
