Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Communications Hardware Electronics Engineer in Palmdale, CA or El Segundo, CA. The role requires working in an IPT and on-site, with 25% travel.

Responsibilities include design and integration of rack-based comms hardware, perform signal and power analysis, create drawings per ASME/IEEE, BOM, and support lab and field tests.

Security clearance required (Secret; higher levels may be required) and funding dependent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Active Secret clearance or eligible to obtain one.
• Experience with MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-100G and ASME Y14.100.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering capture, build, integration, test and maintenance of communications hardware in lab and field settings.
• Design rack-based communication, test, support equipment, and cabling to meet system requirements.
• Develop engineering drawings per ASME/IEEE standards (rack assemblies, interconnect wiring diagrams, cables).
• Develop Bill of Materials to support system builds and specify rack cabling and cooling.
• Develop and execute System Verification procedures and provide lab/site integration support.
