Job summary

Highlands School District is seeking a Behavior Specialist for the secondary level to develop and maintain individual student goals for social and behavioral skills. You will design, implement, and evaluate behavior management strategies in partnership with teachers and the Student Support staff.

The role requires PA K-12 certification, a PA Behavioral Specialist License, a Master’s degree, and at least three years of clinical or mental health experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field such as School, Clinical, Developmental or Counseling Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Speech Therapy or related areas.
• PA K-12 teaching certification or credential is required.
• PA Behavioral Specialist License is required.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical or mental health experience.
• Ability to design, implement and evaluate behavior management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain individual student goals for social and behavioral skills.
• Design, implement and evaluate behavior management systems in line with district policies.
• Consult with teachers and Student Support staff on behavioral interventions to promote success.
• Participate in Crisis Management Team and on-call for crises within the school.
• Coordinate and implement therapeutic and behavior interventions outlined in IBPs.
• Attend IEP and inter-agency meetings; assist with Functional Behavior Assessments and data collection.
