Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to support the operating rooms by delivering fully functional sterile instrumentation. You will decontaminate, prepare, sterilize, and dispatch instruments with attention to quality and safety.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of healthcare experience and a nationally recognized SPD certification within 12 months of hire, with strong communication skills and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED (required).
• Nationally recognized Sterile Processing certification within 12 months of hire (required).
• 1 year of healthcare experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in decontamination, prep & pack, sterilization, and dispatch of instruments.
• Deliver case carts and supplies to OR and Surgery departments.
• Operate SPD equipment and perform monitoring to ensure instrument integrity and cleanliness.
• Maintain department organization, inventory, and safety protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service to staff and physicians.
